Will TruthFinder Expose My Cheating?

To be effective at guarding men from getting caught in their indiscretions, I'm exploring Truthfinder which is a tool wives and girlfriends use to catch their partner cheating. I'll go through what information is provided, what information is withheld and how accurate the information is. The goal of this is to educate high value men so they know what potential information will be available to their partner and how to structure their accounts to limit the chances their indiscretions are brought to light.

Enhancements to technology, private investigators, and phone applications are unfortunately exposing cheating more and more. My company focuses on helping high value men enjoy relationship freedom by alerting them of potential ways they may be caught in their indiscretions. We believe relationships last when both partners are happy and fulfilled. Some view this as simply helping men cheat. That view fails to focus on the bigger picture. People make mistakes, grow in relationships, and shouldn't lose out on their perfect partner to end up with a life of regret. LoveHerBetter gives couples a chance at their forever love by helping men stay in the relationship they are meant to be in.

Picking a person to test with Truthfinder:

When I discussed the plan with some of my clients, I was surprised with the number of people who wanted to be the test subject in this experiment. One of my clients who is married, has a couple of misdemeanors, moved between multiple houses (some in his name an others not), previously signed up for Tinder (under a different name), and has 2 Instagram accounts (one in his name and the other not in his name). I decided this was the perfect person to run the test on.

I created an account and signed up. With Truthfinder, you either provide a name, phone number, address, or email address, and it will provide police records, background reports, court documents, and social media profiles. For this test I searched by both full name and a separate test searching by phone number.

Results: What was accurate and what was inaccurate

  • Possible relatives - Accurate
  • Possible Associates - Inaccurate; included listing of names that had no association with the person being reviewed
  • Job - Accurate however the information was not complete and only provided the first job worked
  • Email Address - Listed over 15 various email addresses that were not associated with the person being reviewed while one listing had the right email. That one accurate email address however was not current and over 15 years old
  • Location history - Accurate
  • Social media profiles - Inaccurate (see below)
  • Criminal record - Accurate
  • Assets - Accurate; the searched returned back all 3 houses owned by the person being reviewed

What's important as part of the search is that the Truthfinder didn't return back accurate results for social media profiles. When searching by name, it did not include a prior tinder account that had been deactivated, nor 2 Instagram accounts (one that was set up under a different name, and one that is active). The only accurate social media account was linkedin. I also performed the search for the social media accounts based on phone number. This also returned inaccurate information and in one case returned an instagram profile for a completely different person.

Keep in mind Truthfinder doesn't claim to provide 100% completely accurate information for any category. Also this test was done on a limited basis so it may be different depending on the person. One thing can not be disputed. For this test, TruthFinder returned inaccurate results for social media profile information. The good news for high value men is it is not full proof, and is not gauranteed to provide evidence of indiscretions. My rule for social media is to set up profiles with email addresses that are easily tied back to you and usernames should not include any part of your actual name. Based on this test TruthFinder provides accurate personal information such as name and location, accurate criminal record information, but does not provide complete and accurate social media information.
